NEWSLETTER & PRODUCTS UPDATE
1 August 2008

This is the first time in over thirty years (since I've been in Australia) that I've had FOUR blankets on my bed. My fingers are so stiff with cold I can barely type (so forgive any nasty typos - my nose is running, too, but don't think about that).

INSPIRATION CUTTER INSTORE DEMONSTRATION & SPECIAL PRICING

On Wednesday, 6 August at 10am the representative for the wholesaler of the Inspiration Cutter will be at the shop demonstrating the machine. If you'd like to attend, PLEASE email (with "Inspiration" in the subject line) or call to book ( 07 3274 5522). If you'd like to buy one of the cutters at that time, you'll get it for the really terrific price of $795 (pick-up from shop only). If you'd like to order this online, please drop me an email, but note that you'll be charged the actual postage cost.

If you'd like to see a demonstration but aren't able to make that day, call or email me and I'll try to arrange another time.

Read more about the Inspiration Cutter.

ONLINE CLASS - "Dad's Clock " - August/early September 2008

We're waiting for more of the Dad clocks to arrive from KaiserCraft - then Jodi will work her magic and transform this into the perfect Father's Day gift. In the meantime, here's an example from the KaiserCraft designers.

JUST IN

Another beautiful range from the oddly-named Little Yellow Bicycle - Vita Bella - with lots of beautiful embellishments to set off the great papers.

These look so boring flat, but are just gorgeous made-up. It's the Playful project sheet from the Little Yellow Bicycle Delightful range. It's a 24" x 12" sheet of diecuts, the largest diecut folds up into a mini-album. I've begged my stepdaughter for some girly photos (because her daughter's beautiful and Connor refused to wear a wig). As soon as I have them I'll do up a sample so you can see that it's brilliant, not boring!

As well as the familiar 7cm blossoms from Green Tara, we're now carrying them in 2cm (at right) and 4cm - the smaller sizes will be on the site by Saturday lunchtime.

COMING SOON

Another three outstanding paper ranges from KaiserCraft - should be instore early/mid next week.

I think this is my favourite this month - EverBlooming - dreamy and not gender-specific.
Here's a cutie for all those little princesses out there - Skull Girl, to complement last month's Skull Boi.
And On the Dot - this looks tailor-made for some Father's Day goodies.

Here's what the KaiserCraft designers did with these three ranges:

Each month from now, KaiserCraft will bring out epoxy brads to match their new papers - here's the latest offering (and I still hear them crying "make me into earrings").

Very exciting - fifteen new clear stamps from KaiserCraft, including three alphabet sets - here's just a little taste.

Aren't these groovy! Just love all the twirly bits - hanging frames, and even a hanging clock.

This is Little Yellow Bicycle Love Letters - the papers at top-right and bottom-left are flocked. Makes me wonder how many zillion sheets of the white flock would it take to paper my bedroom?

I know you don't want to be thinking about Christmas yet, but I just had to show you Christmas Magic, also from Little Yellow Bicycle - that medallion diecut is heavenly.

Without doubt, my favourite range from Basic Grey since Scarlett's Letter - this is Ambrosia. Bizarrely, BG is shipping part of the range in August (papers and stickers), and most embellishments in September. If I shout "this is not a good way to do business, folks" do you think they'll pay me any attention?

Another great range - Eva - love the drama of that paper at the top-left. Same deal as Ambrosia - papers and stickers around mid-August, the rest in September.

Check it out under Custom Orders.

HAPPENINGS

In-store - don't forget our late-night crops every second Friday from 6pm to midnight (with pizza, too). Our next crop is Friday, 1 August - bookings essential - call 3274 5522 for your spot.

New for Old Sale - our second New for Old Sale (like a garage sale but minus the oil stains) is scheduled for Sunday, 7 September - yes, it's a long way away, but it's never too early to start pulling all the stuff you don't want from your stash and marking it for sale. Remember, you don't have to have something to sell - you can just come along and buy.

AND FOR NO REASON AT ALL

This is a true story - it doesn't reflect well on me, but it still made me very happy. Earlier in the week an online customer ("D") emailed to say that a third of her order hadn't arrived. The following morning I was just getting ready to re-pick and send the missing items when a lovely, lovely lady ("T") 'phoned to say that we'd sent her lots of extra goodies but she hadn't paid for them and would send them back. This wonderful, kind honesty absolutely made my day. And in case you're wondering, no, it's never happened before - with the many extra orders during the sale, we somehow shuffled the picking slips so that the third page of D's ended up behind T's, and it will never happen again.

And on a lighter note - a love story:

Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.

Ralph and Edna were both patients in a mental hospital.

One day while they were walking past the hospital swimming pool, Ralph suddenly jumped into the deep end. He sank to the bottom of the pool and stayed there. Edna promptly jumped in to save him. She swam to the bottom and pulled him out. When the director of the hospital became aware of Edna's heroic act she immediately ordered her to be discharged from the hospital, as she now considered her to be mentally stable.

When she went to tell Edna the news she said, "Edna, I have good news and bad news. The good news is you're being discharged, since you were able to rationally respond to a crisis by jumping in and saving the life of the person you love. I have concluded that your act displays sound mindedness. The bad news is, Ralph hung himself in the bathroom with his bathrobe belt right after you saved him. I am so sorry, but he's dead."

Edna replied, 'He didn't hang himself, I put him there to dry. How soon can I go home?"

All the best - come say hello at the forum (or even better, come see us at Salisbury)
